Faculty of Political Science
Rankhamhaeng University
When Ramkhamhaeng University opened in 1971, the Faculty of Political Science functioned as a department within the Faculty of Law. Subsequently, in 1973, it attained its independent status as the Faculty of Political Science. Consequently, the administrative office was relocated from the Faculty of Law to a two-story wooden building adjacent to Hua Mak Stadium on July 30, 1974. The faculty occupied this office for approximately six years. Later, the building was repurposed to house the welfare and security department, as well as the Building and Premises Division. On September 17, 1979, the Faculty of Political Science moved into a five-story permanent office building, characterized by a U-shaped layout. This new facility was divided into two segments: one housing faculty offices and administrative spaces, while the other accommodated the graduate studies office, classrooms, library, and academic document center. Additionally, the building also hosted the Public and Private Management Innovation Center and the Asian Studies Center, including the East Asian Studies Center.
In the years 2007-2009, a significant development took place with the construction of a new 12-story building for the Faculty of Political Science. A foundation stone laying ceremony was held on November 22, 2007, corresponding to the 13th day of the 12th lunar month, Year of the Pig, 1369, from 9:00 AM to 10:04 AM. This new building utilized the area of NB 3 A, B, and NB 10. Subsequently, the new facility was officially handed over and inspected on September 21, 2009. It serves the purpose of facilitating teaching and learning activities, encompassing bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs, as well as housing administrative offices for the Faculty of Political Science.
